Ok, so I have Vista Home Premium 32 bit, and an HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop. my recently shattered my screen, and am currently using a monitor until my screen arrives in the mail. A few weeks ago, I was just messing around, and accidentally change the monitor settings to split screen. I waited about a minute, cause windows usually has that do you like these settings or whatever, and nothing happened. I tried doing a system restore, two to be exact. Didn't fix it. I've been running safe mode for the past 2 weeks or so, and want to do something about it, anyone know how to fix it?

You have to go into the display settings in Control Panel or right click on an empty area on the desktop to look in the display manager to see if more then one monitor is set. It appears that both desktops were moved onto the external monitor somehow.

That will pose another problem however since you have no default display without the laptop's screen until the replacement comes in. If you try to correct this now without that you may end up without anything being displayed on the monitor.

It was something in the control panel. Like MobileMe or something.

Mobileme is how Applie manages email and other things at me.com. The general information is seen at Apple - MobileMe

Since that line of laptops uses the GeForce Go 6150 the display manager in control panel or at the top of the menu when right clicking on the desktop. But none of that should be seen while booted in safe mode unless there's a separate screen setup menu for the laptop itself much like the button seen along the edge of dosplay's frame.
