Hey everyone. So first I don't know much about computers so any help is greatly appreciated.

So I currently have an HP Pavillion dv7 with Vista x64. About a week ago my computer got a small trojan. I was only able to start my computer without freezing in safe mode. After a couple days I started getting the "connected with limited access" and could no longer connect. After getting rid of the virus my wireless still didn't work. Currently I know longer even receive the "connected with limited access message." No wireless networks are detected. I assume my wireless card is shot (when I click "enable" it says it is succesful but the network connection still says disabled" . So, I decided to buy a wireless USB. When use that I locate wireless networks and connect. I'm receiving plenty of packets but can still not connect to the internet.

I bet this is an easy problem but I don't know what to do. I really need the internet for school but don't have the money to take it in to the shop. Any help would be incredibly appreciated. If you need any system specs tell me how to get them and I'll provide them. Thanks again everyone.

Open a command prompt, Windows Key + R, type cmd and then type the following without the quotes and paste all the results back here, "ipconfig /all". Also check, open IE, click Tools, Internet Options, Connection Tab and then the LAN Tab and in the window that opens make sure that all the check boxes are clear, if not clear them and close IE and re-open IE. If all these are ok, you need to run a complete antivirus scan and a anti-spyware program to make sure you are actually clean. What anti-virus program do you have installed and running?

hi.. try this
1. Click the Start menu, in Start Search, type "cmd" (without quotation
marks),
2. Right-click on cmd.exe and click Run as
Administrator.
3. Run the following commands pressing Enter after each one.

netsh winsock reset catalog

netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log

4. Restart the computer to apply the settings to the system
