Hello all the people out there, this is a great site and with many tutorials step by step ,but I need some help with choosing a Firewall. Well , I have Vista 32 Home Premium and its an Laptop. And Im using Nod32 as Antivirus protection, but I thought that I maybe should buy a firewall also? Cuz Im using Windows Firewall, (the one in Control panel) but I dont really know if it is really enough, cuz Im using a router with out wires.
So do you guys have any tip for me?
Please do post free and the ones you have to buy!

Ps: On my other computer I tried Outpost once, and it totally screwed my internet, we had to buy some hardware thing into the computer and pay a guy to do that, so maybe not Outpost thanks!

And if there is any websites that I can read about the top Firewalls 2009 / up coming 2010, that would be great!
Thank you have a great day !

Kristoffer :)

Hello & welcome Kristoffer,

IMHO providing you
*surf safely & know what not to click on,
*have a router with inbuilt firewall,
*don't let anyone else use your computer unsupervised
The inbuilt Win firewall is adequate.

I would however suggest you consider installing Superantispyware or Malwarebytes as well as the protection you currently have. Both are avalable in the free or paid version.

Aren't we talking about the same firewall? That is the Windows Firewall.

Check the name of it. If it's what I think, it should say "Windows Firewall."
You said it yourself in your first post.
Control Panel > Security > Windows Firewall
or
Control Panel > Security Centre > Firewall > click > "Windows Firewall is actively protecting your computer."
