Okay, well I dropped my laptop one time(Yeah I know not the smartest thing to do.) And the disk driver stopped working.

Now..I have done everything from reinstalling the disk driver, cleaning up, system restore. EVERYTHING.

It wont read any disks and I know the disks are good because they worked on another computer. Please tell me someone has a solution because I've searched everywhere and found nothing. :(

How did you get it to work on another computer - with an enclosure attached via USB ??

Now, just popped the disk into another laptop and it came up asking if I wanted to download. I can't use the other laptop. It's not mine.

I just need to know what to do. If we can, we're taking it to dell to see if some wires came undone inside. I just want to know if there is anything else I can do.

So if I understand this right, the disk seems to work. Then it must be a defect in the laptop.

There's probably a defect in your laptop or your wires came undone. I highly doubt your wires came undone though, you would need a VERY hard force to knock them out. You may have damaged the motherboard when it impacted with the floor.

Yeah, I got off realllllly easy learning computers are fragile... I got mad at my laptop because a speaker went fuzzy in it... I then punched it. Wiped the hard drive on it, but luckily it still worked... I guess the reader/writer made contact with the disk and made the data unreadable, but I ran scan disk and it repaired some lost files, but I had to reinstall all 3 of my Operating Systems...

Lol. wasn't fun. I felt like a total retard, because i'm a junior IT, going to take the A+ exam soon to get a certificate in computer repairs... and I punched my computer.
