Download malawarebytes, run it and see if that gets rid of it, if not, try Spyware Search & Destroy.

Norton has never been good to me, unless of course, you want an application that hogs all your resources and just sits there looking pretty.

No problems. Download the Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool from

Malicious Software Removal Tool

and run it.

These are part of a malware scam, usually telling you you need to buy an antivirus program. Don't click on any popups that direct you to buy the program or run av checks.

Unless you are getting blue screens or weird behaviour from your PC you don't have too many problems.

Take a look here.

http://www.vistax64.com/vista-news/189564-fake-antivirus-programs.html

Do you have an AV program installed? There are some good free ones. If you don't have one head to the System Security Threads on this forum and have a browse there.

If you have any further problem don't hesitate to ask again. That what we are here for. Let us know how you get on.

Hi Astalavista. These are also good choices but Malawarebytes has been known to flag system files as malware and while a superb program is not, in my opinion, a good choice for a beginner. I do agree re Norton though. out of the top 10 I rank Norton number 11.
