My desktop is black--please help!

My desktop background is black and I can only change it to other solid colors. This occurred after I went into Vista's system settings and turned off all of the pretty animation stuff. Even after turning it back on, the background is gone. I've looked at other forums and tried all the solutions, but nothing works for me. I also tried using wallpaper_enable.reg and got this error message:

Cannot import C:\......wallpaper_enable.reg: The specified file is not a registry script. You can only import binary registry files from the registry editor.

Upon trying to import it from the registry editor, I get this error message:

Cannot import C:\.....wallpaper_enable.reg: The specified file is not a registry file. You can import only registry files.

I have no idea what else can help. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. :(

Ah! I just fixed it about five minutes ago. As it turns out, deselecting all of those features (including enabled backgrounds) caused the 'disable backgrounds' feature in ease of access to be selected. Putting things back as they were didn't disable that feature on its own.

Thanks for the help though!
