my crappy laptop

hi there peoples

ok... i have a laptop here that my aunt bought for me..... but it doesn't seem to be able to run most games even at LOW settings properly. It can run some games though. I believe that is because i'm using an integrated graphics card.

I'm using the Nvidia Geforce 7150M

my specs are : (i don't think they are THAT low)
System Model HP Pavilion dv2700 Notebook PC
OS Name Microsoft® Windows Vista™ Ultimate
System Type x64-based PC
Processor AMD Turion(tm) 64 X2 TL-60, 2000 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 2 Logical Processor(s)
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 4.00 GB

I have NO intention of maxing out games... i just want to play a few lower-end games on low-slightly higher than low

I hear that i can install a new graphics card over the integrated one and make the computer ignore the integrated card.

My questions are : 1. If i do this is there a possibility for gaming performance increase?
2. Is it even possible?
3. What graphics cards can i get?
4. Can i get an EXTREMELY detailed (stupid-person proof) guide on exactly what to do?

any help would be greatly appreciated

for some reason though i get the feeling that i'm screwed.... and to make it worse my friend just gave me a copy of assasin's creed b4 he left to england... and i have no hope of playing it unless this somehow makes my laptop EXTREMELY powerful which i know is impossible.

Is it something to do with it being a 64bit system. in my eyes that laptop isnt half bad

1. sell the laptop and buy a desktop,
2. laptops are not called laptops, theyre called notebooks because its smaller than an average laptop from the 90s
3. why arent you greatful you got a notebook instead of a pair of socks?

My sugestion as a gamer: Get a desktop. Sell it and use the money for a custom computer.

its a better card than the x200m I have on one of my laptops and I used to play world of warcraft on that machine just fine on low settings. As well as battlefield 2142

As for installing a new card, as far as I know thats not possible on a laptop unless you own a Sager an Alienware or something like that. Not many laptop manufacturers make their cards upgradeable

After thinking about it for another minute I forgot to tell you:
The laptop video drivers are seldom updated by the manufacturer for x64.
I had one manufacturer Toshiba that only had one driver for the system and its 2 years old.
the newer drivers are much faster and get this. NVIDIA will not provide a laptop driver for you, they say, contact your manufacturer, but your manufacturer doesnt make a new driver. Catch 22 , YAY

Not a problem, at least with Nvidia laptop video if you no where to look,

latest and greatest, and in most cases already have the modded INF so that they will install on just about every Nvidia laptop card out.

well.... thanks for the help guys i think i'll just watch anime or something instead of trying to play games... and when win7 comes out i'll buy a desktop....

and i actually did get a pair of socks too..
