MS Office Install Error

I have run into this several times on the same computer, but the most recent has been with MS Office OneNote 2007. I have been trying to install it on a particular computer...install will start normally, but after about one-tenth of the progress bar is filled, install stops and I get the error message "Microsoft Office OneNote has encountered an error during installation." I have checked the MS support pages to no avail. I have successfully installed OneNote on another computer in our domain, and after doing so have set the registry entries for the Application Data folder and other relevant folders to nearly exact duplication (the only difference is the Application Data folder, which is user-specific). The users of the 2 computers are in the same Active Directory groups, and I have no specific permissions set up. I have no other ideas!
