MS Office 2007

A little over 2 years ago I purchased as new a demo/display laptop from a reputable national chain because none others of that model were in stock. The Vista and MS Office 2007 Enterprise activated at time of purchase. A few months later Windows online updating requested a key number to validate my MS Office. The seller supplied a number to me. I entered it, it was accepted and I continued to get updates and smooth operation for 2 years. About a month ago I notice popups from MS saying my Office is non genuine. Finally, this ribbon appears on each Office applications saying it is non-genuine. When I try to rectify this online or with the seller, I am advised to purchase and install genuine Office. I don't have idle cash lying around, can I live with this nuisance or are there any reliable patches to fix it?

I would call the national chain to see what suggestions they can provide. Perhaps they have had other customers with the same problem. Calling Microsoft probably wouldn't help much because they'll just tell you its an OEM situation and you have to deal with the seller. BUT the Microsoft person you talk with might just be familiar with the problem and offer some suggestions as to how to proceed. Worth a try. . .
