Mouse problems ?

Hello all,

As from yesterday i started having weird happenings with my mouse/vista.

I start vista up and sometimes i cant select anything on start menu/taskbars altho i can interact with anything on the desktop.

A temp fix seems to be if i ctrl+alt+delete then esc but it happens again soon after.

Also when i am in iexplorer/firefox the mouse starts auto scrolling when i move it quickly, when this happens the mouse wont respond to anything outside the main window of explorer. If i then open my Bookmarks or run a mouse over a link they all open in new windows.

The mouse is a logitech cordless s510 with keyboard.

I have tried a wired usb mouse.

I have replaced the batteries.

I have rolled back the pc.

I have run AVG and Avast + Ad aware on full scans. All to no avail

My PC is a dell XPS 420.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Nick

Yes i downloaded the logitech drivers yesterday but they made no difference :(

The system has worked with no problems for about 12 months.

Try cleaning where the laser is for the mouse.

2 questions do you have sp1 installed and have you tried plugging the mouse into a front slot. Usually the rear slots are the best but my old mouse for some reason worked better in a front slot. ( Until I downloaded SP1 now it works in any slot).
