Motherboard problem.

Fitting a new motherboard, GA-EP35-DS4, all HDD's in situ, just installing CPU, Ram and Graphics card.

First switch on, got to Welcome screen and froze, restarted now all it does is Start Case fan and CPU fan after 2-3 seconds, runs for 10 seconds and switches off, then restarts and keeps going through same procedure, over and over.

On motherboard is a row of 6 LED's showing CPU loading, all six lit each time it starts,????

I've a horrible feeling the CPU is kaput.

Your thoughts and ideas appreciated.

Check the cooling on your cpu first, insure the paste is applied.
Reset your bios to factory defaults.
Remove your hdd`s.
Remove all but one memory module.
Remove sound card.
Remove your graphics card. (use internal)
If your computer boots you know the cpu and motherboard is ok.
install one memory module at a time and reboot. Then install sound card, then 1 hdd at a time.
It may be a hdd problem or power problem.

Leave the graphics card in as you dont have an onboard, and short the cmos jumper for a second to reset it.

Removed HDD's, shorted Cmos, still the same,

Whats worrying me is the fact that LED's are showing full load on CPU, without HDD's connected.

Its the Phase Led which indicates CPU loading, the higher the loading the more lights are lit, mines showing all lit as soon as you switch on.

dont think it is the processor as it would not start.
May be the motherboard or psu shorting out.
Try a different psu if you can as this is the cheapest option.
If the conponents are new and bought from the same place take them back there and get them to test it.

Have you got an internal speaker connected?
If not connect one as you may get the beep codes. This will indicate the problem.
Try pressing the reset switch (not the on off switch). If you have not got a reset switch then short out the reset switch jumper on the motherboard.

Back to square one, removed board, replaced my old one, everything worked perfectly with same equipment.

Ergo Mobo kaput.
