HP computer, with Vista Home Premium 64 bit "dumped" onto the hard drive.
S-L-O-W, Dial up service
Every now and then when I click to connect and "read mail", I get a message saying "unable to connect with server". Then I would try diagnostics and would get a message "modem is not present"
I found that I could click Restore, work through the sequence and get things going ok.
More recently, I can shut down, restart and the modem works fine.
I will soon switch over to Cox, only need to finish up running coax "drops" in the house but this problem is getting more frequent.
Has me puzzled. ?
