Mitsubishi CP9550DW Printer Driver

I can't get a supposedly compatible Vista driver to install. I downloaded CPD9550V.zip from the Mitsubishi driver website, listed as a Vista driver (new), and unzipped the files into a new folder. But when I plug the printer into a USB port, and follow the instructions (which are the usual - to point to a folder on my computer which contains the driver), Vista says that it "could not find driver software for your device" in the unzipped folder. There are three .dll files and a file called "setup information", along with instructions in english and japanese in .pdf files and an ICC profile, but the only executable is a "language monitor for Windows Vista", and when I run that nothing happens.
I realze few people will have the same printer - it's a commercial dye sub job - but perhaps someone has run into the same kind of thing and can make some suggestions?

Hi Sunburst,
You may have gotten a partial answer from me already - I lost my typing and I'm not sure why. Anyway, here is my response again:

My problem was that I was using Vista 64-bit Ultimate, for which Mitsubishi had not developed a driver. The driver I downloaded was for Vista 32-bit OSs, and it would not work on the 64-bit version. After trying any number of things, I went back to XP Pro.

Having said that, I am surprised that you would have problems at this point with your Vista Home Premium, which I assume is a 32-bit system. I would suggest that you go back to the Mitsubishi site and make SURE that you are downloading the latest driver listed as compatible with VISTA. If you still have problems, Mitsubishi's support system should be able to assist you. I could not use their support system because they did not support my 64-bit operating system at that time.

Good Luck
RIchard
