missing icons

hi ,my friend is new to computers she is on vista all her icons have gone from the task bar ,like the printer and the little house,she has been trying all sorts to get them back to no avail would someone help please

We Need some more Information, What Do you mean "Little House Icon" Please Specify I Program name also is it the Quicklanunch bar or the System Tray?

josh, i have not been on her vista , i think it is the toolbar or menu bar that is missing the icons, the little house she says is the home page icon if you want to change your home page. hope you can understand ,( i use win 7 ) thanks

Are you refering to the internet explorer command bar?

This is the menu bar for Home,feeds, print, safety & tools!

I have included a picture from my Vista 32bit (ie v8)

yes thats whats missing lottiemansion i did not know it was called the command bar i have learnt something myself

It sounds like she's referring to Internet Explorer. Tell her to open IE, click on View, Toolbars, and check the Command toolbar. Then, to customize the Command toolbar, she should put her cursor on the toolbar, right-click, and then at the bottom of the list, select Customize. There she can choose her options, including Add or Remove Commands.
