memory problem

Hi guys and girls.

I have a compleatly new system based on a core i7 proc, and 6gb of DDR3 trible channel RAM.

I us vista Ultimate x64 edition.

My problem is vista eats up ALL memory, and the system begins to stall.
We are talking about all 6 gb ram, and starts to use sidefile.
And this is even when small things are done, like installing a program.


This screenshot is taking while installing a game.

The system is unuseble while this is happening (paint takes 5-10 min to start).

Do you have any idea why my system is acting like this?

Is the memory utilisation more moderate straight after a reboot?

Does it slowly creep up over time?

Do you know of any way to trigger this drastic increase that will result in the memory being pegged close to 100% even after the action is completed? If so, what is that action in your case?

You can list the task and how much ram is being used by doing the following.

Open an elevated command prompt by;
Click on Start
Click on All programs -->Accessories, right click on command prompt and choose run as administrator.

When in an elevated command prompt type in;
Tasklist >C:/list.txt
Open the file, then cut and paste into a quick reply window.
