Memory Issue

Hi everyone, I have a issue with my system memory was hoping someone could help. I recently upgraded from 2.00 GB ram to 4.00 GB but the operating system does not seem to be utililizing it correctly.
System Information shows this:
Installed Physical Memory (ram) 4.00 GB
Total Physical Memory 2.00 GB
Available Physical Memory 1.16 GB
At boot up my Bios is showing 3.5 GB Memory
Run/dxdiag shows memory @ 2046
Windows Experience Index shows 4.00 GB
Here are my system specs:

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 FX-60
MB: Asus A8V Bios ver. 0229 (latest)
Memory: 4 Corsair DDR CMX1024-3200 Dual Data (2 matched sets of 2.00 GB)
OP System: Vista Ultimate SP1 64-bit

I have tried just about everything less a re-install of Vista, would this help?
Any help in this matter would be really appreciated.

Thanks In Advance

Hello Chopperdude.

It may be that Vista cannot recognize the new RAM. Try taking it out, booting up. Shut down and install it, and boot up again. See if it changes.

Interesting. Did you try it with just the two new sticks? I don't think it is bad RAM, as the system still recognizes them. I think that they are actually recognized, but the Information is just wrong...

Yes I have tried each 2.00 GB matched sets of ram separately and all the ram checks out fine.
Also keep in mind all the sticks are exact duplicates as far as there timing settings & required voltage @ 3 3 3 8 & 2.5V

Interesting.

Try a Repair of Vista...

Made an attempt at re-installing Vista Ultimate with the 4 gigs ram in, what a mistake now after the initial file load of Vista I get the "Blue screen of Death".
It appears as though it is an Asus A8V Bios issue that just won't let you run the 4 gigs like it is supposed to. So I just reloaded with 2 gigs and I'll live with it.
This issue is wide spread across the net on many forums. Asus just doesn’t give a #%^@! Here is just one of many almost identical to my problem.

I meant a repair, not reinstall. Yes it could be an error from the mobo.

What is the code for the BSOD?

NICE. That is a badass chopper. I don't like the whole chopper idea (I like motorcycles better) but that does look good.

Glad you reached a decision there. Are you going to build your sys? Thats my preference.

I wouldn’t have it any other way; I have been building gaming rigs for years now.
Those store bought rigs are just a pain with all the excessive software.
I have 4 desktops and 1 laptop networked in my house now, I just can’t get enough!

Nice. Thats how I am, I just don't have the money for more than one PC right now....
