Memory Index question.

Hey all new to the board here… here is my question.

I took my Core 2 Quad Q6600 that had XP on it and I installed Vista Ultimate x64. I also put in a new GeForce 9800 GT and all is well. My Windows Experience Index rating is 5.4 and that is based on memory being the lowest number. I only had 3 gig in at the time. So I was planning on putting 8 gig in the machine and I did that last night. No issues installing and everything booted up nice and is running fine. The memory I put in is 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel. So I rerun the Experience Index and this time it only goes up to 5.5. I was thinking that the more memory would boost that higher? Or is that based on the speed of the memory and not the quantity?

Thanks!

Hello Chaztrip,

Welcome to the forums.

You are correct. The score is based on how fast and not on how much.
