Media Centre stopped picking up USB tuner!

Hey hey all! Annoying problem that I've not really been able to find a simple answer for - I've got a HP dv9700 laptop, with a cheap USB tuner. I've had the tuner about 3 months now, no problems at all, runs like a dream (and not bad for £10). Problem is, Media Centre has suddenly stopped recognizing it, and says there's no tuner available.

I can use the software that came bundled with the tuner and it picks up the signal fine, I can watch TV without a problem, so I know it's not the tuner. I have just recently installed new updates for Java and Directx, and it stopped working around that time. I've tried uninstalling, but no love. Any ideas? Thanks for any help!

Hi, tramampoleen, and welcome to the forums.

Have you verified in Device Manager if the tuner is showing as listed or not working? It could be a simple driver issue for the device and that you need to reinstall the drivers for use with MC

I had a problem with media center not recognizing my USB tuner after I decided to use a different USB port. I think media center was looking at my original location for the tuner. I had to run setup again and it's worked ever since.
