MDI-TIFF Files

I have recently purchased a new laptop installed with Vista Home Premium. I had a ton of files that were transferred from my previous back-up that were MDI or TIF. I'm working with a trial version of Office Home/Student 2007 as well as Microsoft Works.

I went into the uninstall program and updated the Office 2007 to include MDI files but it saves anything new as a TIF and still doesn't read the old files that I had saved as MDI - Any thoughts or solutions on the issue?

As you have figured out, MDI is not supported in Office 2007 (and going forward). See this article on how to open your old MDI files in Office 2007. An .mdi file does not open in the Microsoft Office Document Imaging program that is included in the 2007 Office programs
