Mcafee & Sleep Problem

My first time posting. Forgive if I mess up:o I have a Dell Inspiron 531 running Vista. When I log off in "sleep" mode...all is well, but if I turn my computer off for any reason or McAfee wants to shut it down after an update, it won't let me back in. It just goes through a thing of turning on, showing the welcome screen, immediately going into power save mode, the back through the same process over and over and over. I can only get back up and running when I use F8 and restore the last time I was online successfully. I have tried to call DELL but get someone in India who I can't understand and who can not understand me. I will appreciate your help...thanks! Beverly
