Map a network drive

Hi,
I want to map a network drive. I followed the instructions here:
How to Map a Network Drive | Windows Vista, XP and Windows 7 Tutorials
I could not use the IP address. It wants a folder name, but I want to map the entire drive.
The example in the above instructions uses an IP address.
I also tried to map with the UNC address (\\ExternalDrive). This did not work either
I did verify the IP address (attachment IPadr)
The results are in attachment map net drive
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Frank C

Your computer has to be part of a domain where there is a central server first ! If not you cannot map

Thanks for the reply userseven,
My post is about a local network external drive The drive is shared by a desktop and a laptop . The disk drive is connected to a router.
My thought was if I could map this drive without the folder entry point then it might be "seen" by Verizon Media Manager. Thus in Windows explorer it would appear like the C: drive does: - OS ( C: - instead of - public (\\externaldrive) ( S: - it would be EXT ( S:

Hi,

Please post a picture of the network drive in explorer (Showing drive name etc. etc.), that is if you can?

You could try mapping to a directory on the drive & not the root of the drive. OK?

Thanks Lottie,
I have attached a Windows Explorer screen shot that shows the disks. The external drive is S: with the public entry point. I can't get a screen shot of Verizon Media managers disk list. The list of disks available are C: D: E: F: G: H: I: and N:.
S: is not available.
"You could try mapping to a directory on the drive & not the root of the drive. OK?"
I did try to map to the folder where the videos are located as T: that did not show up in the Verizon list either.
Thanks
Frank C

OK,

I think you need to use the same capitalisation for the name of the drive as per above: -

\\ExternalDrive\????

??? = CapVideo\EditedVideo

(The file / folder name structure you used to get to the files) OK?
