This is particularly so with programs that include email scanning. This link explains why email scanning is unneeded and undesirable. Why you don't need your anti-virus to scan your email - A Cloudeight Information Avenune Tutorial OETips So, if your AV does email scanning it might be good to shut off that feature. This was recommended by someone whose Windows Mail folders disappeared. WMUtil I haven't tried it.
