Live Mail

I have installed Live Mail for everybody (6 people) to access and I can 'see' all of those separate individuals accounts, (i.e whether emails have been read etc) However, I would like my own Live Mail account to remain visible to others but NOT accessible. Can my own account be password protected and likewise each of the others should they so desire?

Hello Yakety, and welcome to Vista Forums.

That would require each person to have their own user account in Vista with only their email account setup in their Live Mail. However, each person's email will not be visible or accessible to the other users.

Thank you Shawn, to answer your question...I don't know!

Each person has downloaded the Live Mail programme and each can see each others respective email address folder in relation to the two domain based email accounts. It's the security/privacy from that point forward that bothers me. It would be better if each individual had their own privacy just leaving the account file visible that would identify that there is an unread email but not allow unauthorised access to read it. I hope that makes some sense? Regards

The only thing I can think of is to have each person have their own password protected user account in Vista. Next, only have their email account setup in Live Mail per user user account. This way when they open Live Mail while logged on to their Vista user account, they will only see their email and no one elses. You could forward any email you would like other users to see to their email accounts. This way none of them will be able to access your email account, or be able to read any email unless you forwarded to them.
