Hello. i am fairly new and have been using a usb for my internet. well now my usb is not recognizing my usb modem. so i thought i would revert back to my direct connection using a CAT5. well it is not working yet all the other computers i own are working. the cable is good tested and so is the wall connection tested. I tried a few suggestions i have read with no luck
*reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults
*reset IPv4 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults
*reset IPv6 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults
*used "automatically get new IP settings for the network adapter 'local area connection'
*reset the network adapter 'local area connection'
unistalled ethernet and reinstalled the ethernet
*disabled ethernet and enabled ethernet
so that is where i stand. if i can fix this next will be the usb be issues. thanks in advance
