i have a prog that says i need an updated .lib files can anyone tell me how to fix that ??

Yeah - give more details about the program - normally, .lib files are used when compiling programs, or else used with *nix based C++ coded apps - are you using a program that uses either GTK+ or else needs Cygwin installed?
