What's your least favorite OS? Past a reason, too!

Mine:

Mac OS X

It's just no logical. I love MacBooks and whatnot, but the OS is just not right in my eyes. It takes too much time to get some work done!!!

Re: Lease Favorite Operating Systems

Windows ME, hands down.
Only version of Windows I ever literally hated.

Never really used a Mac, so can't be sure.

Re: Lease Favorite Operating Systems

Mine was so old I went from windows 98 right into vista, it's like the wife and kids get the best first then down to me. But the more I use vista the more I love it.

Wow, that's quite a long period of time. XP was great, but to me, it was mainstream for a bit too long. I was happy when I got Vista....looking at something different was nice for a change.

The only thing I really didn't like about XP was the cheesy look of it. Compared to the OS's before it, it looked really nice, but it wasn't long before the "Candy" look of it got tiresome, and only being able to change between 3 colors(unless you used a theme hack or something like windowblinds).
There wasn't a lot of customization available with it. It made me start to hate the color blue, lol.

I kind of liked Windows 98. I liked the feel of it. It got the job done, even though it would be slow now.

Windows ME was a stinker. It just made no sense. And XP was great, it brought a new look to Windows, just not a good one...

Any Linux, there's just no point to it, the only reason its good is because it's free, but like everything free, it's rubbish, and before people jump down my throat, yes I have used it, I used to run unix servers through remote connections, also had to use ubuntu for a year or so, and hated every minute of it

I find it is the best thing to recover Windows files with and trouble shooting a dead Windows computer is a lot easier with a bootable USB stick with any of the live cd's on it.
I use Linux Mint for mine.

I must agree with the windows ME point, ie what was the point. On the wifes computer I installed fedora 14. She only uses her laptop for internet access as mine has all the office software. Over the years I have learnt to use an OS which suits the computer user.

True...what was the point.
Looking back on it now, it seems so odd that they released 4 versions of Windows in a matter of 4 years(98,2k,ME,XP). Then it was forever before the next major (consumer) version. ME just didn't make sense to me. It was an upgrade from 98 only because it added some functions from 2k, which in my opinion, was a really solid OS. I never had a single issue with 2k. It was fast and simple, although it wasn't really meant for normal home use.

My least fave OS is any OS modified by an employer to the point of... it doesn't work properly anymore. And then they ignore the IT guys who have to explain to the users that we cannot do that for you. I'll have to email the main office. Then... it still isn't done.
