Laptop shutdown unexpectedly when booted

hey guys big problem here!
i'll give ya a lil description of what i was doing last on the computer.
i was programming my RPG game and realized that i had some windows upsdates so i started downloading afew of them.
i waited till they were finished and did the auto restarted logged back on and carried on programming.
i had to leave the house so i set to work on -download all updates then shut down.
i honestly beleive that this is the cause for my current misfortune,.
i tried to log onto my computer this morning to find that my laptop was shutting down after it was trying to load.
i have tried to look into the Bios and cannot,
i have tried F8 and selected every option without success.
i've tried running safe modes and all without success! im very aggrovated as today i was having a games tester coming round which i've now had to cancel.
I have even tried to do a bios Flatline on my computer and clear to factory settings and this too has failed.
If Anyone could help me at all i would be over the moon!

Can you safe mode and then use system restore to go back a few days before the upadates?

nope, i can't use any of the OS features.
i can't even get to loggin screen it restarts before that! =[

cant log in a system restore otherwise i wouldnt mind as much =[

i was never given 1 when i baught the laptop from curries mate otherwise i would be laughing.

i'm still wauiting for this download!
in the mean time i have downloaded paragon recovery (in like 3 seconds) tried it and my laptop is now telling em i have no OS!
AAARRRRGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

fed up with this so i may be getting an xp disk and upgrading it later or something.

Lets try to get your documents. We will then have more methods to try. Without a install CD, it is more difficult.

We were posting at the same time. Do you have an Vista DVD?

nope i don't have any of the OS disks.
my acer didnt come with any which i think is silly.
i'd be happy with just getting my game script,pixel art, tilesets and character info/graphic coz these have taken a long time to do lol
almost all of the other things on my computer - WoW, PC games and music are replaceable.

-update - Ubuntu 58% done

If your hope is to get the files you want you will have success. Programs may be difficult to recover. They usually need a DVD or if from the net a new download. But lets get Ubuntu loaded so you can get retreive what is possible.
