Lag?

Hey guys.

I play a MMOFPS called CombatArms. Hopefully you have heard of it.

Lately, I have been experiencing some lag... I would like to know if it's a virus, or my internet, or etc...

I have NOT downloaded ANYTHING in 2 months!

Also, my internet goes a little bit faster in the night. I really don't know why... I have a linksys Gigabit router. In the night, it's around 20 Mb/s...

Attached is my internet connection.

Please let me know if there is a solution! Thank you.

When was the last time you updated your graphics drivers or defraged your pc? If it has been a long time...that can make a big difference.

If it goes faster at night than daytime, with no changes there are 2 possibilities.

1. your ISP has less traffic at night.

2. the MMO has less traffic at night.

One of those can be overladed in the daytime and increase the time it takes for your character to do anything. It probably has nothing to do with your computer.

It could be due to the size of the MMO, small can be a problem, particularly if they have a small server farm and a sudden influx of new players. Of course, a large MMO like World of Warcraft get lag issues due to large numbers of people logging in at the same time.

You might check with the MMOs forums and see if others in your general area are having similar problems.

Also check with your ISPs tech support, you might reach someone who can understand your question and know the answer. I say that as many ISP techs these days don't seem to know their job well.

Good Luck !
