Lack of Performance while Browsing

Hello, and thanks for reading my problem.

Well, i have this problem, that when i am browsing through explorer, the icons take like 10 seconds to load, and while they load, i can't open any folder, i can't do nothing on THAT folder, for 10 seconds. Is it normal for the folder to load so slowly?

Like, if there is 100 files with different icons, i have to wait like for 30 seconds for it to load, and that is not normal for a Core2 Duo i guess.

So, can you help me out please?
How do i speed up the process?

Thanks,
Alex.

Could be a result of malware, or frag or file system errors/file corruption,or bad sectors on drive.
I also suggest a Virus/malware scan (online scanner/cleaner-no downloads) this will verifiy your installed products protection level:

It could also be a lack of RAM and virtual memory or paging file...

EDIT: You have 3 gigs of RAM, so perhaps Rive is a bit more accurate here
