Gday
I am expericiencing like a "bottleneck" problem, latency when I play Warcraft 3 (NB NOT WoW).
Let me explain the bottleneck problem, I am surfing the web, I use firefox, as IE8 takes forever to load. I tend to open my pages in tabs (always have done), and when I have multiple tabs open and opening new ones, the pages take forever to load, even going so far sometimes to stop firefox from responding.
During gameplay in Warcraft 3, I lag so much that nothing responds. (I have installed Game Booster, which shuts down unnessary processes)
Even opening Windows Explorer seems to take forever.
I understand Vista is a resource hog.
So I have added and extra 2GB RAM to a total of 4GB
AMD Athlon x 64 5200+
Yet still I am getting a "bottleneck" my CPU hits the 100%, more often than not and tends to sit on between 12 to 50%.
I have been trying to figure out what is causing the "bottleneck", and the only thing I have found that has had some impact on lessening it is KIS 2010 (Kaspersky Internet Security).
Gameplay improves slightly, when I shut down KIS, but overall, my once lightening fast PC (when it was on Win2k), is now like a 386.
I have done a clean install of Vista Ultimate 32bit twice. Yet still the problem persists.
Any suggestions? Because at the moment the sheer slowness of my PC is a) driving me insane and b) making me look at forking out $1200AUD for a new AMD Phenom 810 rig.
