Keyboard problem: US International setting.

Lately, whenever I'm using MSN, something happens to my US International keyboard setting. My keyboard setting is usually at NL - United states International.
Whenever I type a " followed by an e for example, it writes: ë

The problem:
Now my best guess is that it's something MSN does, but after chatting for a bit,
My keyboard setting sometimes messes up. Instead of typing "it's" for example, it types: ""it''s""'
It really messes up. "e results in ""e

I have tried setting the keyboard to a different setting and back, but it doesn't work.
If I switch to US -United states International for example, it works again, but switching back to NL messes is up again.

so far, the only solution I have found to get NL - united states international to work again is reboot my computer


Has anyone ever seen this? It is not something specific to my computer. My Vista 32bit at work has the same issue.... SOMETIMES...

try clicking on the icon : 'A|B' on the bar above where you type, and make sure the 'Script' is set to 'Western'

The script in MSN is set to western.

Also: MSN usually works, but sometimes, the keyboard setting gets messed up.
When it is, it's messed up system wide, not just in MSN. I experience the same problem right now while typing this notepad too.

Same problem with command prompt?
Did you change the keyboard to check it?
Language has been changed in control panel / keyboard language?
Check if you have an irq conflict with the keyboard.

Sorry that's all i can think of for the moment.

The Keyboard is on IRQ 1?(according to the device manager) and does not cause any conflicts.
There is only one language in the keyboard language menu, and that's NL - United states international.
My keyboard is fine, since it works on US - United states international, just no longer on NL. A reboot always fixes the problem. I also have this at work some times, with a different system.

I solved this problem by changing my input language to English (Zimbabwe) and then selecting United States international there. Now it works fine, I can make ümlauts and so forth. Just an FYI.

Also its a pain to register given that all I wanted to do was post a quick answer to help people, I gain nothing from it. Maybe some kind of system where anonymous people could make one post, which would then be approved by an administrator, could fix the problem.
