Hi,

I had the installed files to uploaded and downloaded automatically when it is available. It asks to install the ones that are important and optional. The file above is important to install, but after restarting, it keeps asking to install it, and now I had six of them right now, and it still asks me to install it again.

Those are from June 18th-today;

Now, it asks to be installed again;

Those are from June 16 and 17th;

Are they common or what? I don't see anything to delete those.

Thank you.

I googled it and it is a "glitch" that people are getting it and they said that it will be fixed anytime and suggest to hide it until they fix it again. Should I hide it? Thanks again.

Ok, this is off point, but I would like to give a reputation, but it said I need to spread to other ones, does it mean I need to give it to other people who helped before giving another one to you? I think I gave it to you when you helped out with CCleaner weeks ago. Thanks.

TY for the thought. The system is set up that you must give to one other before giving to me again. TY very much for trying.

Hello!

You are absolutely correct that this update is being an absolute pain since its first release.

It sounds as though you have found this link: Solved Update KB2538242 - stuck like Ground Hog day .. - Windows 7 Forums

That is absolutely correct, and applicable.

The thing I would like to stress is that updates which are repeatedly successfully installed have gone wrong.

Often this issue is at Microsoft's end, and the update is re-released soon after.

However, a repeatedly installing successful update is actually something to worry and consider. It can actually indicate a serious underlying cause, such as a file version mismatch, incomplete installation, or OS corruption, and therefore you may actually not be protected by the security bulletin, unbeknown to you.

However, this time it is at Microsoft's end.

Therefore, it is fine to hide it for two weeks. If I remember, I shall post here once it has been re-released to remind you to unhide it and install it, because it is actually something to worry about, because something somewhere has gone wrong.

Richard

Guys, you need to contact Microsoft, don't wait till they release the patch. I contacted Microsoft 866PCSAFETY, and what they did is the following:
CAUSE :UPDATE FAILURE KB2538242
RESOLUTION :RESET ALL THE UPDATE DLL FILE AND CHECKED FOR UPDATE AND ABLE TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE . They know what to do. Hiding that update , is a band aid solution.
