Hi all,
I'm trying to configure/setup Java to run on Windows Firewall using Outbound Rules. Not having much luck so if anyone out here is using Windows Firewall and have Java set-up with Outbound Rules as a possible added layer of security and can help me it would be appreciated :D. I already have FF and Outlook setup.

Hey Jacee,
No, Java Platform SE Auto Updater 2 0 is listed in Start-up but box is not checked. Only have Windows Defender and MSE checked so its pretty lean. I've gone as far as adding base exceptions to Outbound Rules by adding a new Rule for Firefox and my Outlook email program without any problems. But when I create a new Outbound rule for Java using the same steps I used for FF and Outlook (program, program path: %programfiles%java.exe, allow the connection, ... it just won't work. Wondering if it needs both inbound and outbound path? Or a COM path? Of course to get it working, I just go to windows firewall properties and change Privacy tab from BLOCK to ALLOW which lets most paths OUT then it works...just trying to tighten up the wall a little.
