Its late here so I'm gonna make this brief, my windows update keeps trying to install the same update over and over and over again. At this has been happening my
firefox 2 has gone very unstable. I have never any problems with firefox till now.

It is an update for xml core services (KB936181), take a look at the screen shot.

Thanks for taking time to read this and any ideas of what to do please share as I'm lost in this situation.

Firefox 3 was released some weeks ago, It addresses many problems with FF2

under c:\windows\System32 you have to delete a file msxml4.dll and then restart the computer. Now install the update again. You wont have the update reoffered again

I was really excited when I saw that you posted on this thread, I checked and i don't have a msxml4.dll, I have msxml3.dll and msxml6.dll. Now, I'm confused.

Makes sense - it keeps installing it cause it cannot find hte correct file.....

Oh, did you check SysWOW64 folder?

It seems that msxml update got corrupted. in this case you have to uninstall the kb936181 from the Installed updates and also kb941833. Then you have to install both the update through windows update.
