I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but here goes:
First this my second hard drive on this lab top, I have had issues with my lab top since I got it, and I have always just delt with it and done quick temporary fixes, as I am still able to use my computer but with some frustration.
I think I need to run a check disk on it and I have tried most of the suggestions, with no postive outcomes, I just tried a upgrade install and it said it was unable to boot. I think this is the real root of my problem as when ever I try and restart to install a update or anything like that I am unable to reboot and it just takes me to a black screen saying windows shut down incorrectly and asking me what mode to start up in. I countinue to go around in this circle unless I just hit the power button. After that I am able to go from the black screen and start windows normally.
When I tried to run the check disk from the command prompt it took me to a blue screen for a few seconds I wasn't able to read much before it took me to the black screen again. I did see something on the blue screen about the kernal.
I just backed up my files and I am about to try a clean install and see if I can get that to work. I fear that I will get a similar problem when I try this. I was wondering if you had any suggestions or if I should try and get my third hard drive as I believe I am still on my extended warranty. Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks!
