I know this may be wrong forum but it could be spread over several categories.
I am not 100% on my technological knowledge so i have come to y'all for my problems.
Today mother installed word 2007 onto my hp laptop that is a year old. She also did several other updates, as she as said. I am not sure as to what the updates were though. After retrieving my laptop my resolution has changed. Once i go to reset the resolution to my desired setting i see it is no longer an option and i only have the choices of 800X600 and 1024X768. I had much better settings available before. Also is does not allow me to hook up a second monitor.
Another problem is that the computer no longer goes to sleep. Before i could press the power button and it would go to sleep. Now when i go to change that setting sleep is not an option under any of the pull downs. Even when i press the sleep button is does nothing, neither is it an option from the start menu.
The last problem is not that big of a deal but there is constantly a very large black bar in front of the cursor.
(Most of the updates were adobe or small software updates. The only real addition was that of word 2007. Which was purchased online. Could this be the issue?)
