Is there anyway to restrict where desktop icons go?

I mostly use my desktop as a place for files that I only need temporarily, so there's a relatively large amount of turnover. One thing that I'm wondering is if there's a way for me to restrict where icons are allowed to be/where they fall by default when I save something to the desktop? I use Samurize to embed widgets and whatnot onto my desktop, so it would be nice to be able to keep the icons to a certain area so they don't fall behind my Samurize config.

Well you can turn off Auto-Arrange, and Align to Grid. That would clear it up.
