Is it possible to disable the box with definitions?

Every time I pass the mouse over a word (or my contact list) the definition of that word, along with the word in other languages pops up in a box...most of the time covering the part I am reading. This is extremely annoying. If I want to know the meaning of a word I can look it up. It is not necessary to know the meaning of each and every word the mouse passes over!! Can I disable this feature? Hope you can offer me a suggestion as to how to get rid of this.

Think you can tell us what application this is in?

could be javascript that is doing it. disable javascript in your browser. or use firefox and get javascript add-on.

If you mean over items in Vista itself, then it may be pop-up descriptions. If so, this will show you how to turn it off.
