I just bought a computer that say it's Vista Premium 64 bit. But I also see 32 bit in there that shows up. ON the programs file, I see IE and I see IE64bit. Can someone explain to me what's up. tks

Its 64-bit Vista if you show two IE executables:

Internet Explorer
Internet Explorer (64-bit)

It means you have programs that run under x64, and a Windows on Windows transition layer to allow 32-bit (x86) programs to run unmodified on the 64-bit (x64) system.

OK my brains just blew out.

Ok so when I go online do I use the Internet Explorer or the Internet Explorer 64bit.?

Hello Dan,

Currently it's best to use the default 32-bit IE (C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe) for the best experience since there is currently no flash player add-on, or many other add-ons, available for the 64-bit IE (C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe).

While Brink is absolutely correct, I prefer to surf the net under the x64 browser because it has no support for flash/applets and add-ons. I feel this provides a more secure surfing enviroment. UAC will not protect you from user error, and can result in you allowing executable malware to run on your system without you realizing it. I also block all cookies by default for the very same reason, and manually allow the sites I trust to use cookies. Tracking cookies and other 3rd party cookies are designed to track and store on a remote server all the websites you visit, and if you are lucky just target you for advertising-but there is alot of money in using those cookies for more malicious purposes. Just my two cents.
