First off I apologize if this is in the wrong forum. I wasn't sure where to put it. If there is a more appropriate forum, please let me know and I'll move it acordingly.
I searched through some of the old forums regarding IRQL errors and found that most of them were unhelpful. And I was too lazy to read through them all.
My specs are listed in the profile.
So here is my problem. I bought my laptop with the intention of playing World of Warcraft on it. I installed the game disks and when I am downloading the patch I get an IRQL error after a few minutes. I originally contacted Microsoft support who told me that it sounded like a software error. I then contacted Blizzard Tech support who had me contact Gateway who emailed me updated drivers for each item possible. I updated all drivers possible. However, I am still having the same issue. Blizzard tech support then tells me to have a technician in my area check it. I sent it to the Best Buy where my wife works. They checked all the hardware and reported that everything was in excellent condition. Which it should be seeing that the laptop is only like 3 months old. Blizzard tech then emailed me sayng that there wasn't anything they could do by email and to take it to a technician. I emailed back tonight asking if a phone call could help walk me through any possible solutions to fix the problem. But I kind of doubt it. So I decided to start checking from the Microsoft end of things.
Does anyone have any ideas of what I can do to try to fix the IRQL error? Assuming its not a driver or faulty hardware issue.
Thanks in advance for any assistance provided.
PS. I'm not horribly computer literate, but am intelligent enough to follow directions if they are simple.
