Internet question

I have windows vista 32 bit. Acer 5610Z laptop. (it always does this on all the laptops)

When I put my computer into hibernate or sleep mode. I have to restart my laptop to get back on the internet. It picks up the signal... But the earth doesn't show up.

No virus... I ran it. its clean

How ae you connected to the internet? Wireless or a direct connection?
