Internet Issues

I have been internet issues for a long time, so I am hoping you all can help. In my apartment, I have a wireless router given to me by Verizon. We have three Ethernet cables running from it to three rooms. The ethernet cable work fine for me - I can plug it into my Vista laptop and my MAC. My roommates have MACs and Vista Laptops, and the ethernet cables work fine for them too.

I two internet issues that none of the other computers in my apartment have. My wireless internet does not work in my apartment. It use to work for a while, then it stopped. The icon on the bottom right has the yellow triangle on it. I am in perfect range of the wireless router. One time, it started working again when I took off my password from the computer and it worked...for three days. Strangely, when i go to work, the wireless interent works fine and it works fine at other places with wireless routers. We do have a password on our home system, but my wireless has worked with other passwords protected routers.

My dsl works if I connect via ethernet, but if the computer goes to sleep or hibernates, it will not work. I have to restart the computer.

It's strange because my roommates have Vista laptops without any of these issues. Any help?

Wireless is still a sucky technology and almost all of these issues come down to poor quality drivers.

Therefore, always make sure you're running the very latest drivers recommended by the wifi NIC vendor, and it Might Just Work, maybe.

---I use a laptop, and when I bought my (cheap!) wireless-router, it did NOT work; so after zillions of tries I finally phoned the company/1-800-number (yes, in India) and the techie was an expert who guided me to connect the 'main'-pc to the router + configure it right, waited patiently and we set up my laptop also to the signal---(I must have thanked him a zillion times!)---
---I have NO problems since, at all, even with 3/story floors range---

peace
