My computer when attempting to update Device Driver Isatap Adapter 18 comes up as FAILED. I often have problems connecting to internet. My other two computers connect every time and they all operate of same wireless system and in same area/distance from router. Any help with this problem? I am sure the fault is with this individual desktop computer. This update came in from Microsoft a few days ago and I assume it might be related to this connection problem, Thanks for any help with this, Gus.

Forget installing the Windows Update Driver. I suggest you avoid them and ONLY get your driver updates from the computer maufacturer or the device manufacturer (though the appearance of a Microsoft update for the driver should get you to check those sources for updates and then you should hide the update and not even try to install it). The only exception is when the device or computer manufacturer specifically tells you they don't offer driver updates and do it only through Microsoft (there are some that work that way) - then you can install those.

You may be having troubles with your device drivers, firmware, and/or software. Go to Device Manager by going to start / search box and type device manager and enter and then double-click on the program icon that appears. Check each device for a red x, yellow ! or white ?. These identify devices with problems (probably drivers, but also conflicts or something else). Click on each for further details and troubleshooting tips. If you need to get drivers (and you should do so for that adapter (including any associated firmware and/or software) and any others you have time to do - they may help in ways beyond just resolving this problem), do so from the computer vendor or device manufacturer (NOT from Microsoft Updates). Proceed as follows to get the drivers: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/ht/driverdlmfgr.htm. Once you have the drivers, you can install them through Device Manager as follows: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-device-manager-install-driver.html.

Let's see if that helps.

Good luck!

Hi checked device manager, isatap 18 and 32 adapter have yellow! and saying device not working properly and a code 31 which Microsoft say is not an issue according to reports, I seem to be going in circles, I will just have to put up with this for the moment. Thank you very much for your assistance with this fault. Gus.
