Internet connection

Hi,
My computer does not connect to the internet until the 3rd time I restart it (invariably). I have tried to update my drivers, but I get a message saying that I have the latest version. If I disable and enable devices in Network Connections (Bluetooth, Local Area Connection), then restart, the internet works.
How can I fix this?

Sorry but the experts will need a lot more information to be able to help you.
What type of computer do you have, desktop/laptop, how do you connect to the Internet, via wired or wireless, how long has this been happening, what security do you have ?

Don't forget we can't see your machine so have no idea what is happening so giving us as many details as possible will get you the help you need quicker. ;)

Hi,
I have a laptop - HP Pavilion. ADM Turion 64 X2 Mobile technology TL-66 2.30 GHz. I have a wireless internet connection - Broadcom 4321AG 802.11a/b/g/draft-n Wi-fi Adapter. High speed.
This has been happening for around 3 months. I don't know if this is relevant, but there are other problems with my laptop. Windows updates fail every time they run, specifically, the Windows service pack 1 (KB936330) will not install properly.
Some other things that are wrong: my screen is stretched, and the highest resolution I can select is 1024x768. My computer runs very loudly, and gets very hot when I leave it on full power (I've had this problem before, and took it in to get fixed - it was ok for a while but the problem is back).
I should probably just take it in to be fixed, but my warranty is up and I thought I'd give it a shot myself. Also I can't be without this laptop (such as it is) for 2 weeks right now.
Thanks,
Meaghan

It sounds like you have a few things going wrong, sorry I can't really help as I know nothing about laptops.

You didn't say what security you were running, have you done scans on your machine to eliminate any nasties on it, do you have all the latest drivers for your machine, especially video, you say you're having problems with your screen.

Are you using a mobile dongle for your wireless connection, if not who's your ISP and have to checked to see if they are having any problems with the service.?

I'm just throwing out ideas for you as I told you I know nothing about laptops and if it's running hot that could be a dust build up as well.

Hopefully the experts will see your post and may be able to give you some better help ;)
