so this has been happening ever since i got a new hard drive installed and a logitech g15 keyboard. for some reason, i cannot install games with the installation wizard. it will go through accepting this and that, clicking next a few times, putting in the serial, and then when it gets to the instlalation itself, it says "initializing program to install" yet the green bar wont move to the left, or even show up for that matter. it just stays there. at first it didnt bother me because i somehow got around it, but now i have mirrors edgeand i want to install it, but i cant because of this problem. i am admin, and (uac i think it is?) is disabled, so thats not the case either. please help

just enable UAC for this install and run as administrator, even though you are an administrator, some programs still need elevation. try it with UAC and get back to us.

it doesnt give me the option to run as an administrator. i think its because i am the actual administrator, so the option doesnt show up.

also when i try to hit cancel to get out of the setup, i have to end three different processes. two are install wizard processes and another is a setup.exe process.

this is different though....

but on that case open a elevated command prompt and do a SFC/scannow...

the reason why is because it is a MSI and not a exe.....

trusted installer service will automatically give msi's elevated access (they have to be authenticated of course....)

i try to put the command into new task as sfc /sannow and a command box shows up then just closes.

and not to be mean but im not that smart hahaha. could you please explain what this all means

i just realized that although the installer stays like how it is in the picture, it creates a destination where it usually would be. i looked up the properties and it said that the file included 16 folders, yet no folders and that it was 0 bytes. so a destination is made for where the files are supposed to go, yet the files are obviously not present as a result of the installer never actually installing.

ive just read over everything, have you got permission to edit files in your program files directory? to do this you need to look at the pictures attached, right click anywhere in program files, and go to security tab, click on edit, click on administrators if you are the admin of course, and select the permissions you would like to give yourself, apply and wait for the permissions to finish applying and click ok
