Install creates partition

I have recently installed W7 as my main OS, deleting my Vista install. Ive decided to reinstall, but when I do it creates a partition on its own. I would pick a clean formatted partition on the Vista install menu. But after the installation process, I see that it has created partition on the drive and changed some drive letters around. On one of the partitions it now has a bootsect file. How do I fix this so it only installs on the particular partition/drive I've selected.

Each OS needs its own partition........
When you installed W7 beta did you give it a partition or the whole drive??
If you gave it the whole drive then you either need a new drive or to reinstall with partitions...

When you clean-install Windows 7, it creates 2 partitions. Your main windows partition, and another small one of 200mb, which it hides it afterwards, which stores your boot loader and recovery tools.

You can unhide it by assigning it a drive letter in Disk Management, but you don't need to. Besides, it's only 200MB, and it is seperate from your main partition for security reasons.

Ok guess I forgot to list the specifics.

Yes I noticed the 200mb partition when windows 7 was installed. No problem there.

Yes I did give Vista a different harddrive than the windows7 one. I have two hard drives so it should'nt be a problem.

Could there be a problem because I created a partition off the second hard drive with vista that I now use to install games for windows 7?

So originally without vista...

E=Games

After vista installation

Hard Drive 1
E=Windows 7

Hard Drive 2
D= Some Boot sect file
C= Vista
F= Games
