install 32 bit from 64 bit dvd?

I purchased Ultimate 64 for my diy system. I only have 2G RAM so 32 or 64 bits make no difference to me. But I choose 64 just for future when I upgrade RAM to 4G or even beyond. However, I got a problem with my Epson scanner which I couldn't find a 64 bit driver. Epson only has one for Vista 32. I am think whether I can install a 32 bit system using the 64 bit dvd for the time being. Then when I need >4G RAM and replaced my scanner, I install the 64 bit system. Is this possible? or I have to buy another Vista 32 DVD which I couldn't afford?

You must use a 32 bit dvd to install 32 bit Vista.

Ultimate usually comes with 2 dvd's - 32 and 64 bit.

You can use any copy of a Vista 32 bit dvd with your Ultimate product key.

The dvd's contain the files needed to install all editions - the product key determines which edition is installed from the dvd onto the hard drive. ( in your case it will be ultimate).

Can you borrow a Vista 32bit dvd?
