In DESPERATE NEED OF HELP "PLEASE"

Here is the problem. I have vista 64 and AVG 8.0 anti virus. I CANNOT DOWNLOAD ANYTHING TO MY COMPUTER!!

It acts as if it is downloading but it is NO WHere TO BE found on my computer hard drive. I did this so much our internet provider said we used our limit on our downloads. But nothing ever got downloaded.

I have contacted AVG and they wanted me to download a avg removal tool but I can't and it won't let me uninstall avg.

I have read so many things on this and it has something to do with Vista and AVg not working together or something blocking something else. I have did everything suggested. I have defraged, ran all my files and folders, disk cleanup NO THING WORKSl

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME I have two important meetings via webcam on saturday morning and I have to get this fixed. it 's 3:42 am here because that is the only time my downloads don't count against me. PLEASEHELP!

Hi -

Boot into Safemode w/ Networking and see if you can d/load the AVG removal tool there. Tap the F8 key repeatedly during boot-up.

Are you using IE 7/8 or Firefox?
What about the download limit by your ISP - are you sure you are not exceeding it?

Also try -

IE without add-ons
START | internet | select IE w/o add-ons

IE - run at elecated level
START | internet | RIGHT-click on IE, select run as administrator
