Hey i "accidentally" erased some temp files because i thought they had a virus and now some things don't work like my messenger and mozzila and i don't know what else until i need it.It seems that i can't uninstall them and install them again so i was wondering is there any way that i could find those temp files anywhere? Thanks a lot.bb

If they were temp files, those get deleted almost on a daily basis (I could be wrong here) and, for the most part, they wouldn't stop you from using your applications.

Where, exactly, did you deleted the files from? can you write down the correct path?

There are programs that help you recover lost or deleted files... EasyRecovery Pro is the one I used I believe.

Fix it this way:
Use System restore to restore your computer to before you edited/altered/deleted Windows files/registry entries that may have resulted in corruption.

start>in search bar, type sys>under programs at top, click Sytem restore>click "continue", and wait for program to load. Follow prompts to restore (you will not loose any documents/data) I suggest restoring to the day before- or in the event you use registry cleaners; to a date before you edited the registry.

Then...

scan/clean your system of malware here:
Free ESET Online Antivirus Scanner

I recommend installing Eset's NOD32 version 4, but if you are looking for a good free program try Avira/AVG/Avast! you can find the download links here:http://www.vistax64.com/system-security/162362-antivirus-scanners-internet-security-tools.html
note- even if you choose one of the free programs it is still a good idea to regularly use the NOD32 online scanner to verify your installed antivirus is not missing anything and is providing optimal malware protection.

After you have restored Vista, and checked for malware, Do a full defrag (not Vista's default), and check your disk for file system errrors and bad drive sectors as these will seriously impact Vista speed and performance.
