IE not responding

whenever i start my IE, after couple of minutes it shows not responding..whats the problem wid that..is it due virus?

probably not a virus, but do y ou have a current working antivirus running? what is it?

could you go into event viewer (type event viewer in search) go to the windws log, application tab and look for errors (red "X" in left column). what is the event ID and source of the most frequent?

This solution fixed mine:
Alternatively, or in addition to the above fix, you can try registering actxprxy.dll, a process that has improved Internet Explorer 8’s performance for a handful of users.
Click the Start button then search for “CMD.” Right-click cmd.exe and select “Run as Administrator,” then type regsvr32 actxprxy.dll and press return. Quit then re-launch Internet Explorer 8 and check for improved performance.
